Hello there is a ford expedition me and my dad are trying to fix for my aunt, but we cant seem to find the problem. The fuel pump is brand new and also the Fuel Pump Drive Module is brand new and the car starts if you put starter fluid which means it is a fuel pump problem. We began diagnosing from the pump and working our way to the fuse box.

  1. Fuel Pump does not turn on for the few seconds it should to prime the vehicle. checked the positive line of the connector and have no voltage going through.
  2. Checked Fuel Pump Driver Module white wire which comes from the inertia switch which we bypassed to also see if the problem was the inertia switch and I get a max of .2 volts and goes no higher.
  3. When straight to the fuse box found the green/yellow wire which i believe is the line driving the fuel pump voltage and also get a max of about .24 or so volts.
  4. Checked the fuses and even disassembled the fuse box to get to the non servicable fuel pump relay to see if it had burnt out but it looked fine and also did a continuity test since I know no other way of troubleshooting that relay because it soldered on to a board.

2005 Ford Expedition Fuel Pump We have 9 Items In-stock. Select your vehicle’s Submodel to continue. As the fuel pump relay controls power to the fuel pump, any faults with it can cause issues with the fuel pump, which can cause drivability problems for the vehicle. Usually a bad or failing fuel pump relay will produce a few symptoms that can alert the driver of the issues.

But I think the relays and fuses are fine since I’m getting some type of reading. Only other thing I think might be the problem is Powertrain Control Module but I honestly have no other idea. Any kind of help is greatly appreciated thank you
